Understanding Your Location Data
Jiobit's patented Progressive Beaconing technology uses a combination of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, and GPS to ensure the device is always connected.
How your Jiobit connects and reports location data
YOUR PHONE, OR CARE TEAM MEMBER'S PHONE
When the Jiobit is within Bluetooth range of your phone, or a Care Team member's phone, it will automatically connect to that phone. The location data shared within the app is the location of that phone.
YOUR HOME WI-FI
When the Jiobit is at Home and Home Wi-Fi Connect is enabled, the location data shared within the app is the location of your Home.
YOUR TRUSTED PLACES
When the Jiobit is at any one of your Trusted Places, the location data shared within the app is the location of that particular Trusted Place.
GPS AND VARIOUS CELLULAR NETWORKS
When the Jiobit is not able to connect to your phone (or a Care Team member's phone) or your Home Wi-Fi and it is not at any of your Trusted Places, the location data shared within the app is based off of various GPS and cellular networks. It does not matter what cellular provider you have.
You can expect to see a location accuracy circle displayed within the app when reporting a location. Typically, the location accuracy is within 0-50 ft.
While we try our best, we cannot guarantee a connection 100% of the time.
If the Jiobit is in a poor coverage area, or something is obstructing the cellular signal to the device, the app will display the message CONNECTING TO JIOBIT. When this message is visible, the app will display the last location reported to our servers. As soon as the cell connection is established again this message will disappear and the location will update.
